Technical Information: Tank Mixing

Proper tank mixing ensures that products are used as designed. This means better solubility, better dispersion and better efficacy, which all leads to the strongest turf.

However, issues can occur for a variety of reasons including insufficient tank mixing, introducing incompatible products, spraying practices, environmental conditions, water quality problems or product misuse.

Minimize Issues Through Proper Tank Mixing:

  • pH
    Modify as necessary
  • Water Components
Use water from the best source possible. Water testing and jar testing are highly recommended
  • Temperature
Use warm water if available, especially on phosphorus products
  • Concentration Factor
Add and mix in the most diluted form possible
  • Agitation
Do not stop agitation; good agitation is a must
  • Tank Cleanliness
    Keep tank and system clean
  • Order of Addition
Find the best order of addition (see chart below)
  • Non-Floratine Products
If using products other than Floratine, avoid chelated micronutrient solubles.

Order of Addition

Always pre-test compatibility by using the standard jar test prior to actual mixing.
